Cancer patients sometimes spend weeks and months receiving treatment in the hospital with very little to do to take their minds off the trauma of cancer. Engaging with the arts has been shown to promote relaxation, healing, and human connection. Engaging in creative experiences empowers patients to gain back autonomy and humanize their healthcare experience. As part of their healing arts program, Hearts Need Art provides Art Care Packages to patients and their families. Rockhills is joining in this initiative to collect supplies and assemble art care packages. All of our Hearts Need Art and we can all play a part in using the arts to provide compassionate care to the most vulnerable in our community.
