Blaine Butcher

blaine butcher, elder

Blaine was born at a very young age. But seriously, Blaine came to know Jesus Christ in elementary school when he heard that God loved everyone and sent His only Son to die for the sins of all people. Blaine prayed for the forgiveness of his own sins and committed his life to God. Forty years later, Blaine is still following Jesus Christ. He is the husband of a wonderful wife, Abigail, and the father of six adorable children. He loves sports, especially the Astros; films, art, reading, and putting his obnoxious dog into its crate each night. He was formerly a youth pastor and then served as a missionary in France for over four years. He found going to school easier than working so he has a couple of degrees including a Th.M from Dallas Theological Seminary. He currently works in the financial investment industry helping people prepare for and live in retirement.

Blaine and his family started coming to Rockhills Church because his kids liked the free food before the service, and he and his wife appreciated the preaching and worship. They stayed at Rockhills because of the genuine kindness of the people who make up this church and because of the opportunities to serve. Rockhills is committed to loving God and others, believing that the Bible is the inspired word of God. This community of Christians accepts people wherever they are and makes them feel welcome regardless of their background or appearance. Blaine and Abigail also appreciate the service projects that the church does for people here in San Antonio and in the other parts of the world. They are grateful to call Rockhills their church home.
