Larry is from San Antonio, a graduate of UTSA, and is a 4th grade teacher in NEISD. He is married to Rose, his high school sweetheart, and has two teenage daughters. He enjoys music, running and spending time with his family. Larry is also a sasquatch enthusiast and would someday like to join in a sasquatch hunt.
Along with serving as a Deacon, Larry leads Integrate – our high school ministry. In this capacity he is able to share his passion for working with youth and serving the Lord.
Laura grew up on the Gulf Coast of Texas and in South Korea. She attended Texas A&M Unviersity where she earned a Master of Science Degree in Food Science. As the BrewCrew leader, Laura loves coming in early on Sundays and creating a welcoming environment at Rockhills with coffee and snacks.
In her role as the Rockhills Administrative Assistant, Laura has a passion for brainstorming new ways of communicating God’s truths. Her favorite verse is John 15:4, where Jesus promises that if we remain in Him, he will remain in us. Laura enjoys cooking, gardening, and hanging out at home with her husband, Stephen, and their two teenage daughters.
Sandy is a Texas native who grew up in Edinburg, lived in Houston, and has now lived in San Antonio for 13 years. She works for a refining company and is a university professor. At Rockhills, Sandy helps people get connected through our Connecting Center and finds ways to build genuine relationships so Rockhillers can experience life together. She sees herself as living proof that God has a purpose for everyone, and that how you start in life does not have to define who you will become. Sandy and her husband Raul have four daughters, and they enjoy spending time with friends and family.
Jimmie grew up in San Antonio and is a proud graduate of O.W. Holmes High School. He earned an athletic scholarship to Texas A&M University and played on the 1985 Southwest Conference Championship team who became the 1986 Cotton Bowl. He then signed a free agent contract with the New England Patriots. Jimmie entered the Air Force in 1992 after receiving his commission through the AFROTC program at the University of Texas at San Antonio. After 22 years of faithful service in the Space and Missile career field, Jimmie retired from the Air Force in August 2014.
Jimmie is married to Yvonne, also a Holmes High School graduate, and they have three children: Jamal, Jalen and Lauryn, all of whom attend Reagan High School.
In addition to his role as one of the Deacons at Rockhills, Jimmie is part of the setup crew transforming Huebner Elementary into a place of worship. Jimmie enjoys spending time with his family, participating in sports, and sharing life with the members of the Rockhills community.
Jan Hassler grew up in the mountains of Colorado and New Mexico. She landed in Texas for college, where she received a degree in Social Services and Criminal Justice. Later in life, she graduated from a Spiritual Formation and Spiritual Direction program.
Jan has a passion for journeying with others in a personal way as they discover their life stories, seeking to hear and know God better and respond to His leading in their sacred and ordinary moments of life. She particularly has a tender place for those on the “front lines” of ministry to help them find rest and rejuvenation for their hearts and souls. She is a trained spiritual director and accompanying people in this capacity is a joy and a gift in her life.
Jan enjoys living life with her 4-legged canine companions and her husband, Al. Together they do a lot of marriage mentoring and hiking in the mountains. She is a Master Gardener and finds therapy “playing in the dirt”. She is enjoying being “Tito” to her 4 year old grandson and having him help her see the sacred and ordinary moments of life in new and refreshing ways.
Jeff grew up in Iowa and joined the Navy at 18. He was fortunate enough to meet his wife Constanza during his travels and they eventually settled in San Antonio in 2008. He serves as a deacon and treasurer at Rockhills, and has attended with Constanza since 2010. Jeff loves helping out around the church, pitching in to teach 2nd and 3rd graders at Basecamp and assisting with the setup team to get the church ready to go on Sunday mornings. He can frequently be found goofing around and keeping things light hearted with the many great guys at Rockhills.
Clay grew up in a small south Texas town with less than 2,000 people and eventually moved to San Antonio where he met his thoughtful and beautiful wife, Sarah. They were attracted to Rockhills because of its focus on community service and small groups. Clay became a believer in Christ and was baptized in 2014 at Rockhills, where he now serves as a Deacon. His primary focus at Rockhills is to build partnerships with local charities and organize community service projects. In his daily life he enjoys spending quality time and traveling with his wife, the productive work that he accomplishes in his commercial banking career, and competitive running.
